This sculpture is a maquette of a life-size sculpture being created for the town of Bishopville, South Carolina. It is
in honor of their home town hero, Felix 'Doc' Blanchard. Mr. Blanchard grew up in Bishopville, SC in Lee County.
He was the only South Carolinian in history to when the Heisman trophy ; playing for West Point.
He served as a fighter pilot in the Korean and Vietnam wars. In Vietnam, he flew over 80 combat missions. For
